House situated in the oldest area of Hermigua, next to the Church of Saint Domingo and was for many years the refuge of the old Franciscan Convent. Interior very well cared for with many antique pieces and exquisite decoration.

This building dates back to around 1515/1520. The house was a refuge of the convent of Dominican Monks until the Church was privatised and parts of the convent were claimed by the various buyers. It offers visitors a mixture of architectural and decorative delights, as much of the antique furniture and craftworks were recovered from the convent and restored. The original building structure has been maintained and much of the woodwork of the roof, doors and windows are originals. There is a private passageway at the back of the house leading to an orchard and store room – it is completely independent of the house and is only used by the neighbours to pass through. At the back of the house, there is an interior patio, which leads to a bathroom. This outside space is ideal to sit and read and enjoy the tranquillity of the place. Here, you are completely free of any noise from the street. The Church bell is situated on the wall which adjoins the Church and in fiesta times or when there are special services, we can hear the bells ringing.

This house is situated in the square of the Convent, a place which houses a great deal of patrimonial history due to the fact that all the surrounding houses are of similar date and style of architecture. In front of the house, there was in the past a boys school. It closed about 80 years ago and is now being renovated and restored. The square is an ideal place to sit and rest or read. You can park the car right in front door. The immediate surroundings take us to the area of the ravine, where the landscape is exceptional and ideal for walking. One can hear the sound of running water flowing through the stream here.
